We announce the final exam schedule for the Fall 2026 semester at Korea University Sejong Campus as follows:

A. Final Exam Period: June 16 (Tue) – June 22 (Mon), 2026 [See Attachment 1 for details]

B. Exam Format
In principle, the exam is conducted in person.
However, in exceptional circumstances, such as a student’s unavoidable stay abroad, infection with a widespread contagious disease, difficulties in operating examination venues due to large class sizes, or when the nature of the course necessitates remote (non-face-to-face) assessments or assignment-based evaluations, the university may administer examinations remotely using the TrustLock feature of its LMS or replace examinations with assignment submissions.

Guidelines for Faculty and Departmental Staff

1.     Pre-Exam Consultation and Student Notification
Even if exam methods and grading policies were stated in the syllabus, please consult and notify students in advance to avoid confusion and ensure smooth exam administration.

2.     Academic Credit for Missed Exams
Students unable to attend the exam due to illness, military duty, or other unavoidable reasons may apply for grade recognition under Article 45-2 of the School Regulations and Articles 69 and 70 of the Academic Management Regulations.
[Refer to Attachments 2 and 3 for eligibility, required documents, and request forms]

3.     Use of Generative AI such as ChatGPT
In accordance with the university's basic guidelines on the use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, instructors are requested to comprehensively consider both the educational benefits and potential negative impacts of generative AI, determine whether its use (especially in assignment submissions) will be permitted in each course, and clearly inform students of this policy by including it in the course syllabus. [See Attachment 4]

4.     Grading Policy
Grades will be evaluated based on the type of grading (absolute/relative) and criteria set for each course. Specific grade processing schedules will be announced at the end of the semester.

5.     Additional Notes on Exam Administration

1)   During the exam period, classes other than exams are, in principle, to be conducted in the originally designated format (face-to-face classes in person, and remote classes in real-time or recorded formats)

However, in unavoidable cases-such as conducting make-up classes outside regular class hours or difficulty securing classrooms due to overlapping exam schedules- remote classes may be utilized.

(Even for courses originally scheduled as in-person, make-up classes may be conducted in real-time or recorded online formats)

2)    In accordance with the Higher Education Act and Ministry of Education guidelines, each course must fulfill the legal requirement of 15 weeks of instruction (30 sessions for classes held twice a week, 15 sessions for once a week). Refer to the makeup class guidelines for details.

3)  In-person exams, remote exams, and assignment-based assessments each count as one class session.

4)     To prevent academic misconduct during examinations, instructors are requested to ensure strict exam supervision. If any misconduct is confirmed, appropriate measures, including the withholding of grades or disciplinary action, may be taken in accordance with the relevant regulations.
